The Swachchata app is the grievance redressal tool from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs of the Indian Government. This app helps you to post civic-related issues like garbage dumps by capturing the photos and raising a complaint. With this app, you can help the Municipal corporation identify the unclean areas in your city and take the required actions. How to Install and Use the Swachhata MoHUA App
The Government of India is taking many effective steps to keep the nation clean by implementing new plans. One such initiative is the launching of the Swachhata MoHUA app. You can also be a part of this initiative by posting a civic-related issue on the app and make a change.
1. Install the Swacchata MoHUA app on your smartphone from the Play Store. On the iPhone, you can get the app from the App Store.
2. After installation, launch it and enter your Mobile Number in the required field. Tap Next.
3. Now, you will receive a one-time password (OTP) on the registered phone number, enter it and tap Done.
4. On the Set Location page, you need to enter your correct location in the required field. You can also tap the Use Current Location button to set your exact location on the Swachhata MoHUA app. After doing it, tap Done.
Steps to Use the Swacchata MoHUA App
After installing the app and entering the required details, you will be taken to the app’s home screen. There, you will see a few tabs at the bottom of the page.
Home
Once you reach the home screen of the app, you will find options to raise complaints. Apart from lodging complaints, there are also several options available in this section which we have explained below.
Post a Complaint: Using this option, you can post a complaint regarding the civic-related issues in your locality.
- Tap the Post a Complaint option from the home tab. You have to choose the issue category such as garbage dump, sweeping not done, public toilet(s) cleaning, etc., according to the issue you face in your area.
- Once you select the Category, you have to enter your area name and provide additional information regarding the issue.
- Next, tap the Add a Photo tab and take a photo from your camera or upload the image from your gallery.
- Tap Done, and your complaint will be forwarded to the city corporation and the sanitary inspector of your ward.
Rate Public Toilet: You can rate the cleanliness of the public toilets in your area using this option. To rate this, you need to find the QR that is pasted on the wall or door. Then, tap this option and select Allow to permit the app to access your mobile’s camera. Scan the QR code using the Swachhata MoHUA app, give the necessary details, and rate the cleanliness of the public toilet in your area.
SBM Toilet Locator: The Swachh Bharat Mission Toilet Locator option allows you to find the nearest toilet in your area. Just tap the option and enter the location. A list of nearby public toilets will appear on the app.
Provide Feedback: By accessing this option, you can rate the Swacchata MoHUA app. You can tell them about your user experience with the app and you can also provide suggestions for improving the app in the required field.
Events
In this section, you will get to know about all the events organized by your city corporation in your neighborhood.
Yours: All the events that you have volunteered for and participated in will appear in this section.
Upcoming: You will get to know about all the upcoming events that are organized by the local bodies in your area.
Popular: With this option, you will get a list of all the past and current popular events that are happening in your area. If you are willing to participate in any of the events, tap the event and select the Volunteer option. Then, enter your Name and confirm your participation. You can also share these events with your friends and family to encourage them to participate. If you don’t know the event’s location, you can use the Directions option. This will open the Maps application on your smartphone and direct you to the event location.
Bookmarked Events: If you find any event important, you can Bookmark it. All the events that you have bookmarked will appear in this section.
All: Here, you will find a consolidated list of all the events that are happening in your area.
Complaints
In this section, you will find all the complaints posted by you and your local residents.
Posted: All the past and current complaints filed and posted by you will be displayed in this option. You can edit or delete the complaints as well by accessing this option.
Voted: If anyone in your locality has raised a complaint using this app, you can support them by tapping the Vote option near the complaint. Thus, all the complaints voted by you will be available in this tab.
Nearby: Complaints raised by your nearby local residents using this app will appear in this section.
City: The overall complaints posted by the local residents in your city will be there in this section. By selecting those complaints, you can view the status of the complaint whether it is open or closed.
